Tomato Risotto

The tomato risotto was fantastic. The waitress called it her favorite dish on the menu, and I can see why. It was creamy and flavorful with a good portion size. I would get it again!

Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce

Every dish we ordered at Vello was delicious, fresh - perfection from our arugula salad starters, the special of the evening lamb dish, 'my' rigatoni, divinely cooked roasted brussel sprouts and a tiramisu that was the best I've ever had. Wonderful chefs, and service, highly recommend and we look forward to returning for many meals to come, thank you!

Chicken Parmesan

Vello is a much-appreciated addition to the neighborhood. Friday was my 1st time there & the Beet Salad, Chicken Parm, & Ricotta Donuts were all amazing! Additionally, the attentive staff, the excellent service, & the live music all made for an unexpectedly wonderful evening. Given my 5-star experience, I look forward to being a very happy regular at Vello, my new go-to place.

Herb Crusted Haddock

my first time having proper seafood. and wow. i was astounded by the taste, quality, and portioning of the serving. the bartender was really nice too! worth the expenses.

Seared Swordfish

All the food at Vello is excellent. I love the mushroom arancini. The salads are delicious and fresh-the beet salad, Caesar and the Watermelon salad. My favorite entree so far is the seared swordfish. You get a very large piece of swordfish, seared w/cauliflower ans spinach. It's delicious and it's already the second time I had it. Bravo!

Seafood Pasta

Because I'm on a restrictive medical diet dining out can be challenging. The chef kindly modified the seafood pasta ( butter, instead of sauces) and it was delicious! I n addition, at another dinner, I enjoyed the wild mushroom agnolotti without worry. Both waitstaff and chef were attentive, professional and helpful. I have also had their brunch menu omelette with mushrooms and red pepper, cooked to a perfect consistency. Outdoor dining is plentiful. If you eat inside, the music is at just the right volume. You can listen to the music, but converse with your friends without shouting, at a normal tone. I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant. Thank you, Vello!

Beef Empanadas

I recently visited Vello and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I am usually disappointed by "American" restaurants but found the menu here more creative and well-prepared. Cooked for an American palate, many of the dishes are a bit on the under-spiced side, but nonetheless tasty. The empanadas were excellent with a fresh light dough and the ricotta donuts were very light and delicious when warm. Our "brunch" dishes were Huevos Rancheros with a mild salsa and far-from-Israeli shakshuka, which was still edible. Definitely worth exploring the dishes further.

Chicken Parmesan

By far the best Chicken Parmesan, I have ever had, been to north end and to high end fine dining Italian restaurants. no one makes like this, not too greasy, still crispy. amazing Pomodoro sauce, cheesy and pasta is to die for. Brookline has real Gem
